Ask a person

One person makes this game and the same person answers the mail. Write to muddermister@gmail.com and you will get a human reply — not a ticket number.

It helps enormously if you say:

Where your saves and logs live

Everything the game remembers about you sits in one folder on your own computer. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Settings are under Saved/Config and crash logs under Saved/Logs. Deleting the Saved folder resets the game to how it shipped, which is also the first thing to try if the options screen is behaving strangely. Uninstalling through Steam removes the game; this folder stays until you delete it.

Playing together

Junkyard Astronauts is 1–4 player co-op. One player hosts a yard and the others join it; there is no dedicated server anywhere, and nothing about a session survives it.

Single-player needs no connection at all and works with the network off.

Controls

These are the defaults. Every one of them is rebindable — Options ▸ Controls holds 14 actions per device, and the on-screen hints read from your bindings, so a remapped key is never wrong on screen. Controllers are fully supported, with Xbox, PlayStation and Steam Deck button labels.

Launching is a ceremony. Carry the finished rocket to the pad in the middle of the yard, press E to set it down — that claims the pad and calls the range clear — then aim at the big red button and fire.

Intel Macs are not supported. The Mac build is compiled for Apple silicon and has only ever been run there. If you are on an Intel Mac, do not buy it expecting it to run.

Integrated graphics will run the game — it detects one and starts itself on LOW quality. You can raise that in Options ▸ Graphics if your machine has more to give.

Things people ask for that are not there

Purchases and refunds

The game is sold by Valve on Steam, and every purchase, receipt and refund is handled there under Steam's refund policy. Start at help.steampowered.com — refunds are not something this end can process. If the problem is the game rather than the purchase, write to me anyway; I would rather fix it than have you ask for your money back.

Privacy

The game collects nothing about you. The whole story is on the privacy page.
