Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use cover this website and the information we publish about WIT — Worth It?. By using the app you also agree to them.
Your Licence to Use the App
WIT is licensed, not sold. The licence for the app itself is Apple's Standard End User License Agreement — the default that applies to App Store apps where the developer has not filed a custom licence, which we have not. Nothing on this page replaces, overrides, or adds to it; where the two ever appear to differ, Apple's Standard EULA governs the app. You can read it at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/, and the app links to it from its Premium screen.
Price & WIT Premium
WIT is free to download, and free forever for one wish-list item. Every feature of the app — the work timer, auto-tracking, reading a price from a link, the home-screen and lock-screen widgets, the Live Activity and Dynamic Island, and all of the personalisation options — is included at no cost. WIT Premium unlocks exactly one thing: an unlimited wish list. There are no ads.
Premium is offered three ways, and you choose which you prefer:
- Yearly — $19.99, an auto-renewing subscription billed every 12 months, starting with a 7-day free trial.
- Monthly — $2.99, an auto-renewing subscription billed every month.
- Lifetime — $49.99, a single one-time purchase. No subscription, nothing to cancel.
Those are US prices. The app shows the price in your own currency, at Apple's equivalent tier for your region, on the Premium screen before you buy anything.
Subscription Terms
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period.
- If you start the yearly plan's 7-day free trial, it converts to a paid year at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription during it.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period.
- Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's terms. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us.
- Restoring a previous purchase is available from the "Restore Purchases" button on the app's Premium screen.
Your Data
- Your pay figures, work schedule and wish list belong to you and are stored on your device. WIT does not sync or upload them, and we have no access to them. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
- Because nothing is uploaded, we cannot recover your data for you if the device is lost or the app is deleted.
Estimates, Not Financial Advice
WIT exists to help you reflect on spending. It is not a budgeting service, an accounting tool, or a source of financial advice.
- Every figure the app shows is an estimate calculated from the numbers you enter. If your hourly rate, tax estimate, schedule or break settings are wrong or out of date, the hours it shows will be wrong too.
- The optional tax slider produces a rough take-home estimate only. It is not a tax calculation, it does not account for your jurisdiction, brackets, allowances, pension contributions, or anything else, and it should never be used for tax or payroll purposes.
- Tracked time is a measure of the timer you ran in the app. It is not a record of hours worked for any employment, invoicing, or legal purpose.
- Decisions about what to buy, save, or work are entirely yours.
Prices Read from Websites
- When you paste a product link, WIT fetches that page directly from the retailer's site and reads the name and price out of the page's own tags. We do not host, mirror, or modify their content.
- Retailer pages vary, and a price may be missing, out of date, exclude tax or delivery, or simply be read incorrectly. Always check the price against the shop itself before relying on it.
- WIT is not affiliated with any retailer whose page it can read, and is not responsible for the accuracy or availability of their content.
- You agree to use this feature only on ordinary public web pages you have a legitimate reason to access.
User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the app only for lawful purposes.
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app.
- Not use the app in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it.
Disclaimer
WIT is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee specific results, that price detection will succeed on any given website, or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to purchasing decisions made using its estimates, inaccurate prices read from third-party websites, mis-set pay or schedule figures, or data loss.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. This does not affect Apple's Standard EULA, which governs your licence to the app itself.
