WAY

About WAY

WAY (WhereAreYou) helps you find your friends in crowded places like festivals, concerts, and city nights out. Add friends with a QR code or invite link, ping each other to see where you are on one map, and never lose your crew again — all without ads, trackers, or selling your data.

Key Features

• Your crew's shared locations on one map, with how fresh each pin is
• Find function with private pings — always free, for everyone
• Festival Mode — every crew ping is answered automatically for a set duration, even from friends you normally approve by hand, then it switches itself off; up to 4 hours on the free tier
• Ghost Mode — instantly stop all sharing with one tap
• QR code and invite-link friend adding — your request lands with them, and they tap Add to connect back
• Per-friend privacy controls (sharing toggle, and Auto-approve, which is on for every new friend until you switch it off)
• Share-code rotation — cut off anyone you no longer trust
• Stranger request inbox — see, add, ignore, or block unknown pings, now showing the sender's name rather than a bare code
• Pin notes, custom emoji pins, custom pin colours, and friend trails that follow each live share (kept up to 24 hours, on your device only)
• Saved Festival Mode presets, and battery presets that set how long each location you share stays on friends' maps (10, 30 or 60 minutes)
• No ads, no third-party tracking, no analytics SDKs
• No new account to make — WAY runs on your iCloud sign-in, and friends only see a display name and a random share code

WAY+ (Optional)

WAY is free, and the free tier covers a crew of up to 5 friends with Festival Mode sessions up to 4 hours. WAY+ is a single $4.99 purchase — no subscription, no auto-renew — and unlocks:

• Unlimited crew — no cap on how many friends you add
• All-day Festival Mode — sessions up to 24 hours instead of 4

Everything else in WAY stays free, and safety never sits behind the paywall — locating a lost friend, Ghost Mode, blocking, and every privacy control work the same whether or not you buy it. Already had a bigger crew before WAY+ existed? It's yours to keep — the cap only applies going forward.

There's also an optional $0.99 tip if you'd like to support development. It unlocks nothing — it's just a thank you.
