Overview
Savoured ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles and how it is kept private. Savoured is built around a single principle: we do not collect any personal data — ever.
Information We Collect
None. Savoured does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Savoured has no servers of its own, collects no analytics, and contains no third-party SDKs. There are no accounts and no advertising identifiers. Our App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
Your Recipes
- Every recipe you save — including titles, ingredients, steps, notes, categories, photos, and source URLs — is stored locally on your device.
- Savoured does not sync your recipes to iCloud or anywhere else. Your cookbook stays on the device it was saved to.
Your Shopping List
- Your shopping list is stored on your device alongside your recipes. It is not synced or transmitted.
Cooking Timers & Notifications
- Savoured can send you a notification when a cooking timer finishes. Timers are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.
- Permission is only requested at the moment you start your first timer, never on launch. You can decline and still use every other part of the app.
Safari Extension
- The Savoured Safari extension reads the content of a webpage only when you actively tap to save a recipe from that page.
- It does not run in the background, does not track your browsing, does not collect URLs you visit, and does not transmit any data anywhere — the extracted recipe is handed directly to the Savoured app on your device.
- You control which sites the extension can read in iOS Settings → Safari → Extensions → Savoured Extension. You can leave it set to "Ask" to approve each site individually.
Recipe Imports from URLs
- When you paste a URL into Savoured to import a recipe, the app fetches that page directly from the publisher's website so it can parse out the ingredients and steps.
- This request goes from your device to the publisher's server, not through any server of ours. We do not log, store, or even see the URLs you import.
What We Do NOT Do
- We do not require an account, email address, name, or phone number.
- We do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- We do not include advertising or any advertising identifiers.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
- We do not access your photos, contacts, calendar, location, or other device data beyond what you explicitly hand to the app.
Purchases
- Savoured is free for your first 10 recipes. A single one-time purchase removes that limit.
- The transaction is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store payment information — the app only reads whether the purchase is active.
Data Storage & Security
- All recipe data is stored on your device, protected by Apple's standard device security.
- All network requests made by the app or the extension use HTTPS where the destination website supports it.
Your Rights & Controls
- Delete a recipe: Remove any recipe from within the app at any time.
- Delete all data: Deleting the app removes all recipe data. Because nothing is synced or uploaded, there are no other copies to remove.
- Disable the extension: Turn off Savoured in iOS Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions at any time.
- Turn off timer alerts: Revoke notification permission in iOS Settings at any time; timers still run while the app is open.
Children's Privacy
Savoured is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires) without verified parental consent.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective" date.
