Tap to cast your line, then wait for Bob the Bobber to dip under and tap again the moment it bobs to set the hook. During the reel, hold to pull the fish in and let go when the tension gauge runs high — pull too hard for too long and the line snaps. Land the fish to add it to your Fishdex.
Each rod has its own strengths — some make fish bite faster, some make reeling more forgiving, and some boost your luck of hooking rare species. Bait adds extra rare-fish luck on top of your rod for a limited number of catches. Buy and equip both in the Tackle Shop using coins you earn by selling fish.
The Starter Bundle is a single optional in-app purchase that gives you a head-start: a chunk of coins, a solid mid-tier rod, and a tin of premium bait. It's entirely optional — the whole game can be played and completed for free. It's a one-time purchase with no subscription.
Open the Tackle Shop and tap Restore Purchase. As long as you're signed in to the same Apple ID you bought it with, your purchase will be re-applied. If a purchase ever doesn't restore, email us and we'll help.
None. Catch a Bit has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. Your progress lives only on your device. The only time the app talks to the network is when you make or restore an in-app purchase, which is handled entirely by Apple. See the privacy policy for the full details.
No — Catch a Bit stores your progress locally on each device and does not use iCloud sync, so your Fishdex and coins are separate per device. Deleting the app erases its saved data. Your Starter Bundle purchase, however, can always be restored on any device signed in to the same Apple ID.
Yes. The entire game plays offline. You only need a connection to buy or restore the Starter Bundle.
Use the reset option in the app's settings, or delete and reinstall the app to start fresh. Note that deleting the app permanently removes your saved progress, since nothing is stored in the cloud.
No. Catch a Bit has no ads and no tracking. The only optional spend is the one-time Starter Bundle.
