Catch a Bit ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles and how it is kept private. Catch a Bit is built around a single principle: we do not collect any personal data — ever.
Information We Collect
None. Catch a Bit does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party SDKs that phone home.
Your Game Data
- Your progress — caught fish, your Fishdex, coins, gear, achievements, and settings — is stored locally on your device only.
- This data never leaves your device. There are no servers, and we have no way to see or access your save.
- Catch a Bit does not use iCloud sync, so progress is per-device. Deleting the app permanently erases its saved data.
In-App Purchases
- Catch a Bit offers one optional one-time in-app purchase, the "Starter Bundle". It is not required to play.
- If you buy it, the purchase is processed entirely by Apple. The app receives only a verified entitlement from Apple's StoreKit indicating that your purchase was completed.
- We do not see or store your payment details, your Apple ID, or any personal identifier from Apple.

What We Do NOT Do
- We do not require an account, email address, name, or phone number.
- We do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- We do not include advertising or any advertising identifiers.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
- We do not access your photos, contacts, calendar, location, or other device data.
Network Use
The app works fully offline. The only network communication is with Apple's App Store when you choose to make or restore an in-app purchase. The app makes no other network requests.
Data Storage & Security
- All game data is stored on your device, protected by Apple's standard device security.
- Any communication with the App Store uses Apple's secure infrastructure.
Your Rights & Controls
- Reset your progress: Use the reset option in the app, or delete the app to remove all saved data from your device.
- Restore a purchase: Tap "Restore Purchase" in the Tackle Shop to re-apply the Starter Bundle on a device signed in to the same Apple ID.
- Request a refund: Because the Starter Bundle is a one-time purchase, there is nothing to cancel. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Children's Privacy
Catch a Bit does not collect any personal data from anyone, including children. The app contains a single optional in-app purchase that is gated behind the device's standard payment controls; parents can disable purchases using Screen Time / Ask to Buy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective" date.
