By downloading or using Spineless? ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Spineless? is also covered by Apple's standard End User License Agreement, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these terms and Apple's standard EULA conflict, Apple's EULA governs.
What the app is
Spineless? is a motivational habit-quitting tracker with a cartoon worm that comments on your progress, sometimes at your expense. The humour is the point, and it is meant affectionately.
Spineless? is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and nothing it says is medical, psychological or professional advice. If you are quitting something with serious withdrawal risks — alcohol among them — or are struggling with a dependency, please speak to a doctor or a qualified support service. Do not rely on this app in place of professional care, and never delay seeking help because of something a worm said.
Backbone — subscriptions and purchases
The core of Spineless? is free forever: one habit, the full streak tracker, and the worm. Backbone unlocks unlimited habits, Roast Mode, the worm's wardrobe, the full statistics and history, custom reminder times, and CSV export.
Auto-renewing subscriptions
- Backbone is offered as a monthly and a yearly auto-renewing subscription. Prices are shown in your local currency inside the app before you purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price of the plan you selected.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Free trial
- The yearly plan may include a two-week free trial for customers who have not used a trial in this subscription group before. Eligibility is determined by Apple, and the trial is only advertised in the app when you are actually eligible for it.
- If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid yearly subscription.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial period.
Lifetime purchase
- Backbone Lifetime is a one-time, non-consumable purchase. It is not a subscription: nothing renews, nothing is charged again, and there is nothing to cancel.
- It is tied to your Apple Account and can be restored on any device you sign in to, using Restore purchases in Settings or on the paywall.
Refunds
All purchases are handled by Apple, and refunds are at Apple's discretion under their terms. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, because we never receive the payment directly.
Your data
Everything you enter stays on your device. We have no servers and no copy of it, which also means we cannot recover it for you if you delete the app or lose your device. Use Export to CSV if a record matters to you.

Acceptable use
Don't attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app, and don't use it in a way that breaks the law. That's the whole list.
Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will help you quit anything.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, muddermis is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
