Overview

PCKR ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. PCKR is designed with a privacy-first philosophy: no accounts, no third-party analytics, no data sales — ever.

Information We Collect

Trip Data

  • The trips you create — destination name, dates, travel mode, destination types, activities, packing items, and sightseeing items — are stored locally on your device only.
  • We do not transmit, upload, or back up your trip data to our servers. We do not operate any servers that store your personal data.

Destination Lookups

  • When you enter a destination name, PCKR sends that text to Open-Meteo's free geocoding service to look up its coordinates. No personal identifiers are attached to this request.
  • When you fetch weather, PCKR sends the destination's coordinates and your trip date range to Open-Meteo's forecast API. The response is stored on your device only.

Purchase Status

  • If you buy PCKR Pro, your purchase is processed by Apple. PCKR receives only a verified entitlement from Apple's StoreKit indicating that your one-time purchase has been completed.
  • We do not see your payment details, Apple ID, or any personal identifiers from Apple.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not require an account, email address, name, or phone number.
  • We do not collect your device location.
  • We do not use third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or advertising identifiers.
  • We do not have access to your photos, contacts, calendar, or other device data.

How We Use Your Information

  • Trip Data: Used locally on your device to display, edit, and track your trips and packing progress.
  • Destination Lookups: Used only to fetch coordinates and weather for the destinations you enter.
  • Purchase Status: Used only to unlock PCKR Pro features.

Data Storage

  • All trips, packing lists, sightseeing items, and preferences are stored in your device's local storage.
  • Cached weather and sightseeing results are stored on your device alongside the trip they belong to.
  • If you delete the app or delete a trip, the associated data is removed from your device.

Third-Party Services

Open-Meteo (Weather & Geocoding)

  • PCKR uses Open-Meteo's free, non-commercial weather and geocoding APIs to fetch forecasts and look up destination coordinates.
  • Open-Meteo does not require API keys or accounts and states they do not track individual users.

Apple App Store & StoreKit

Wikipedia (Sightseeing)

  • PCKR Pro uses Wikipedia's public API to fetch real sightseeing recommendations based on your destination's coordinates.
  • Only geographic coordinates are sent — no personal data is included in the request.

No Analytics, No Ads

  • PCKR does not include any third-party analytics frameworks, advertising SDKs, or tracking identifiers.

Your Rights & Controls

You have the right to:

  • Delete trips: Remove any trip and its associated data at any time from within the app.
  • Delete all data: Delete the app to remove all PCKR data from your device.
  • Request a refund: Because PCKR Pro is a one-time purchase, there's no subscription to cancel. If you'd like a refund, request one through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Data Controller & Legal Rights (EU/UK/California)

The data controller for the limited data PCKR handles is muddermis, contactable at muddermister@gmail.com. Our lawful basis for processing is your consent (when you choose to look up a destination or buy PCKR Pro) and our legitimate interest in operating the app.

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, California, or another region with comparable laws, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability where applicable
  • Withdraw any consent you have given
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for EU residents, the Danish Data Protection Agency — Datatilsynet — at datatilsynet.dk)

Because PCKR stores trip data only on your own device, you can exercise most of these rights directly by deleting trips in the app or deleting the app entirely. For any other request, email us at muddermister@gmail.com.

Children's Privacy

PCKR is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires, such as under GDPR in parts of the EU) without verified parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children covered by these age limits.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
